Settings for the new Webcam Module from Framework (on Fedora)
I've been the lucky owner of a Framework laptop for a few months. It originally came with a camera based on a rather poor chip - the image quality was pretty weak, especially in low light conditions.
When I noticed that the company had started selling a newer webcam module, I decided to buy it.
Installing the module was straightforward. Framework laptops are very easy to open, so everything was as expected :)
I wasn't too happy with the colours - there was too much green in the image. As I'm using Fedora, I was looking for tools to control the colours. Some of my first attempts weren't too successful, but in the end I managed to find an application called guvcview
. It allowed me to enable "Exposure, dynamic framerate", which made a huge difference.
That was a first modification of parts of this laptop. I'm looking forward for future tune-ups. Telling friends that I have upgraded a laptop is priceless :)
